I’m Gina, and I’m very excited to connect with you as you take this important step toward caring for yourself and exploring your journey -- past, present, and future! I am currently an intern in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program at Catawba College and will graduate with my master’s degree in spring 2027. I also have a master’s degree in forensic psychology, which has encouraged me to blend my understanding of trauma, behavioral patterns, and the impact of adverse experiences into my clinical work. I strongly believe in a trauma-informed, holistic approach to counseling that also explores how systemic and social influences may shape your sense of self, relationships, and overall mental health. My theoretical interests draw mostly from narrative therapy, feminist therapy, and person-centered therapy. Growth, to me, is not a linear process, but one shaped by our environments, relationships, and the strengths we often don’t recognize in ourselves. In my work, I hope to create a safe, compassionate space where clients can explore their experiences, discover their resilience, and move forward at their own pace. My intention is to walk alongside each client as they navigate healing and transformation, and to be a source of support and hope for those who may feel unseen or unheard.
