Andreya Powell
MS, CMHC Intern
My name is Andreya Powell, and I am currently a graduate student in the Clinical Mental Health Counseling program at Liberty University. I am completing my counseling internship as part of my professional development as a future mental health counselor. I have a strong passion for helping individuals navigate life challenges, improve emotional well being, and develop healthier ways of understanding themselves and their experiences. I am interested in working with teenagers and young adults who may be experiencing stress, life transitions, emotional struggles, or difficulties in their relationships. I value creating a supportive and nonjudgmental environment where individuals feel safe to express themselves openly and honestly. My goal is to help clients feel heard, understood, and empowered as they work toward personal growth and healing. My counseling philosophy is rooted in a person-centered approach, which emphasizes empathy, genuineness, and unconditional positive regard, while integrating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy techniques to help clients better understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. I believe that the counseling relationship itself is a powerful part of the healing process. Through empathy, authenticity, and collaboration, i aim to support clients as they work toward greater self awareness, resilience, and meaningful change in their lives!
