Karmin Styron, MS, CSW Intern

Karmin is a Master of Social Work candidate at the University of Central Florida, completing her clinical practicum with a strong passion for trauma-informed mental health care. She brings several years of experience supporting children, teens, and families through her work in Child Protective Services and behavioral health case management.
In her role with Craven County Department of Social Services, Karmin conducts safety assessments, develops family safety plans, coordinates services with providers, and supports children and caregivers through significant transitions. She has extensive experience in trauma screening and connecting families with appropriate resources to address maltreatment and improve wellbeing.
Previously, Karmin served as a Certified Behavioral Health Case Manager at St. Augustine Youth Services, where she collaborated with high-risk youth and families to create individualized care plans, reduce crisis stabilization episodes, and connect clients with essential mental health, housing, and community supports.
With a background in psychology and neuroscience from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Karmin is dedicated to using evidence-based interventions to help vulnerable populations heal and thrive. She is committed to fostering safety, empowerment, and meaningful progress for every client she serves.
