Finding Your Path with Jessica Whittington, LCSW: A Collaborative and Tailored Approach to Therapy
Taking the step to start therapy is a powerful investment in your well-being, your growth, and your future. But finding the right therapist, someone who truly understands you and has the specific tools to help you navigate life’s hurdles, can feel a bit overwhelming. If you are looking for a safe, welcoming, and non-judgmental space to unpack your thoughts, I am so glad you are here. My name is Jessica Whittington, and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with 11 years of experience, fully licensed to practice in both California and North Carolina. Life comes with complex challenges, and you shouldn’t have to carry them alone.
I work with adults to break through emotional barriers, navigate difficult seasons, and build meaningful, lasting personal growth. Because your life history, your strengths, and your personal goals are entirely unique to you, I don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all model of therapy. Instead, my approach is deeply encouraging, practical, and highly collaborative. I blend proven therapeutic methods with supportive, actionable coaching, creating a partnership where you bring the expertise on your own life, and I bring the specialized strategies to help you move forward.
This tailored approach allows me to support individuals navigating a wide variety of mental health, behavioral, and situational challenges. Whether you are seeking to heal from past painful, stressful, or overwhelming experiences related to trauma and PTSD, or looking for relief from severe stress, anxiety, depression, and intense emotional shifts, change is possible. I also work with adults experiencing daily struggles of ADHD such as memory, focus, and organization. I also support those dealing with life and relationship stress, family conflict, grief, and major life transitions. Additionally, I help clients safely navigate recovery from substance use and addictions, helping them deeply understand their triggers and break unhealthy habits.
To ensure you receive the highest quality of care, I have dedicated myself to continuous training and hold several advanced clinical certifications. As a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional, I use a trauma-informed lens to help you safely process past wounds, always prioritizing your emotional safety while building long-term resilience. To manage intense emotions when daily stress peaks, I incorporate my training as a Certified Dialectical Behavior Therapy professional to teach you practical, real-world skills for emotional regulation, distress tolerance, mindfulness, and stronger communication.
For clients navigating neurodiversity, my background as an ADHD-Certified Clinical Services Provider allows me to share specialized strategies designed specifically for the adult ADHD brain, helping you improve focus, conquer daily tasks, and significantly reduce that paralyzing feeling of overwhelm.
Recognizing that addiction is complex, my training as a Certified Addictions-Informed Professional ensures we address the biological, psychological, and social dimensions of substance use. Together, we will utilize compassionate, motivational tools to support your journey toward lasting recovery and positive lifestyle changes.
Healing and growth aren’t about being perfect; they are about making progress at your own pace. If you are ready to explore how we can work together to help you thrive, or if you know someone in your life who might benefit from this collaborative support, I would love to connect. Please feel free to reach out or share my information with anyone who is ready to take that next meaningful step.
